Χθες, Παρασκευή 3 Οκτωβρίου 2025, το All Day Bar Café Theater, 41 Street Café στον Υμηττό, γέμισε από φως, λόγο και συναίσθημα, καθώς παρουσιάστηκε το έργο της συγγραφέως Ελένης Μπάλιου με τίτλο «Ευτύχης Καμένος».

Στον πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο ο Σπύρος Κατηφόρης, ο οποίος με ένταση και αμεσότητα έδωσε σάρκα και οστά σε έναν χαρακτήρα βαθιά ανθρώπινο, που κουβαλά όλα όσα βιώνει η τρίτη ηλικία στη σύγχρονη Ελλάδα.

Το έργο άγγιξε μια θεματική που αφορά άμεσα την κοινωνία μας: τα προβλήματα των ηλικιωμένων σε σχέση με τη συνταξιοδότηση. Μέσα από τον ήρωα ξεδιπλώθηκαν οι δυσκολίες και τα εμπόδια που συναντούν οι άνθρωποι στο δρόμο για να απολαύσουν τους κόπους μιας ζωής∙ η αδυσώπητη γραφειοκρατία, οι καθυστερήσεις, τα ατελείωτα «χαρτιά» και οι διαδικασίες που εξαντλούν την υπομονή τους. Η συγγραφέας, με ευαισθησία αλλά και κριτική ματιά, έδειξε πώς το σύστημα πολλές φορές καταλήγει να φθείρει και να κουράζει αντί να στηρίζει, γεννώντας αγανακτήσεις και απογοητεύσεις.

Την εκδήλωση παρακολούθησε πλήθος κόσμου: φίλοι της συγγραφέως, άνθρωποι της τέχνης και των γραμμάτων, θαμώνες του 41 Street Café, αλλά και φίλοι προσωπικοί. Όλοι μαζί δημιούργησαν μια ζεστή και φιλική ατμόσφαιρα, που κορυφώθηκε με το θερμό χειροκρότημα στο τέλος.

Η βραδιά δεν ήταν απλώς μια θεατρική παρουσίαση, αλλά μια υπενθύμιση: ότι η τέχνη μπορεί να μιλήσει για τα πιο καυτά κοινωνικά ζητήματα, να δώσει φωνή στους ανθρώπους που συχνά μένουν στο περιθώριο και να αναδείξει τη δύναμη της αλήθειας μέσα από τον λόγο και την ερμηνεία.

Yesterday, Friday, October 3, 2025, the All Day Bar Café Theater, 41 Street Café in Hymettus, was filled with light, speech and emotion, as the work of the writer Eleni Baliou entitled “Eftychis Kamenos” was presented. In the leading role, Spyros Katiforis, who with intensity and immediacy gave flesh and blood to a deeply human character, who carries everything that the elderly experience in modern Greece. The work touched on a topic that directly concerns our society: the problems of the elderly in relation to retirement. Through the hero, the difficulties and obstacles that people encounter on the way to enjoying the labors of a lifetime unfolded; the relentless bureaucracy, the delays, the endless “paperwork” and the procedures that exhaust their patience. The author, with sensitivity but also a critical eye, showed how the system often ends up wearing down and tiring instead of supporting, generating resentment and disappointment. The event was attended by a large crowd: friends of the author, people of art and letters, patrons of 41 Street Café, as well as personal friends. Together, they created a warm and friendly atmosphere, which culminated in warm applause at the end. The evening was not just a theatrical presentation, but a reminder: that art can speak about the hottest social issues, give a voice to people who are often left on the sidelines, and highlight the power of truth through speech and interpretation.

Χτες (3/10/2025) είχαμε τη χαρά να ακούσουμε και να δούμε τον θεατρικό μονόλογο «Ευτύχης Καμένος» της αγαπημένης φίλης, εξαιρετικής ποιήτριας και πεζογράφου, Ελένης Μπάλιου Eleni Marina.

Η αφήγηση παρ-ακολουθεί έναν κατακαημένο Έλληνα, στην προσπάθειά του να βγάλει τη σύνταξή του. Και μέσα στον λαβύρινθο της γραφειοκρατίας αναθυμάται πολλά χρόνια πριν, όταν συνόδευε τη μάνα του με την πίκρα της, για τον ίδιο λόγο.

Τι κι αν κύλησε πολύ νερό στ’ αυλάκι από τότε. Η γραφειοκρατία παραμένει κράτος εν κράτει, ο λαβύρινθος έχει απλώς αλλάξει λίγο στην αρχιτεκτονική των διαδρόμων του και το τέρας που ελλοχεύει στο βάθος έχει πλέον ξενικό όνομα: Λέγε με GOV και GPT.

Τώρα, μετά την αναμέτρησή του με το τέρας, ο δυστυχής Ευτύχης, νταλκαδιασμένος, τραγουδώντας «Τα ψεύτικα τα λόγια τα μεγάλα», αποχωρεί από τη σκηνή μιας χώρας που εδώ και αιώνες «το ίδιο ψέμα πάντα κουβαλάει»…

Ο Σπύρος Κατηφόρης, στον ρόλο του Ευτύχη, δίνει πνοή στον ανεπιτήδευτο, χιουμοριστικό, άμεσο λόγο της Ελένης, για να μας συνεπάρει με την αναμφισβήτητη υποκριτική του ικανότητα και να μας πάρει μαζί του στον τραγελαφικά συναισθηματικό κόσμο του «ήρωα».

Ποιος νοιάζεται, αν ο όποιος Καμένος θα πάρει ή δεν θα πάρει σύνταξη; Αν πάρει ποτέ —αν του επιστρέψουνε ποτέ— τα δικά του χρήματα, στο τέλος, με χίλιους τρόπους, θα του τα πάρουνε πίσω…

Η Ελένη Μπάλιου μπορεί σίγουρα να διακριθεί και στη θεατρική σκηνή. Πολλά διηγήματά της, άλλωστε, έχουν εκείνα τα στοιχεία που μπορούν να της ανοίξουν έναν καινούργιο δρόμο...

Της το εύχομαι ολόψυχα. Και σε άλλα με υγεία Ελένη!

BABIS ZAFEIRATOS ON THE BLOG: BOTTLE IN THE WIND

Yesterday (3/10/2025) we had the pleasure of listening to and seeing the theatrical monologue “Euftichis Kamenos” by our dear friend, excellent poet and prose writer, Eleni Baliou Eleni Marina.

The narrative follows a burnt-out Greek, in his attempt to get his pension. And within the labyrinth of bureaucracy, he remembers many years ago, when he accompanied his mother with her bitterness, for the same reason.

No matter how much water has flowed down the drain since then. The bureaucracy remains a state within a state, the labyrinth has simply changed a little in the architecture of its corridors and the monster lurking in the background now has a foreign name: Call me GOV and GPT.

Now, after his confrontation with the monster, the unfortunate Eftichis, dazed, singing “The false words are the great ones”, leaves the stage of a country that for centuries “always carries the same lie”…

Spyros Katiforis, in the role of Eftichis, breathes life into the unpretentious, humorous, direct speech of Eleni, to captivate us with his undeniable acting ability and take us with him into the hilariously emotional world of the “hero”.

Who cares if any Kamenos will get a pension or not? If he ever gets — if they ever get back — his own money, in the end, in a thousand ways, they will take it back from him…

Eleni Baliou can certainly distinguish herself on the theatrical stage as well. Many of her short stories, after all, have those elements that can open a new path for her...
